How-To Tips

The following are more in-depth descriptions that are meant to supplement the photo-journal pages and to provide additional details of the construction techniques that I've used.

Build a seat Build a copy of a production fiberglass seat.   It is amazingly easy to build a copy of your favorite seat.
Laminated ash deck fitting I used scraps of ash veneer to create these deck fittings.  They are very light, incredibly strong, and are an attractive alternative to plastic fittings.
Underdeck hatch hold-downs Use concealed underdeck bungees to secure your hatch covers.  No more unsightly straps on the deck.
Bungs Need a wood bung quickly, but don't have a plug-cutter?  Spin one with your hand drill.
Epoxy measuring cup Use cheap, disposable paper cups to mix epoxy, and use one to make a measuring gauge.
