With the redwood lamination complete on one side, I realized that this would be the best time to draw the outline of the paddle on the flat surface of the opposite side and trim off the excess.  If I had waited until after I had added the other redwood layer, it would have been difficult to draw the layout lines overtop of the laminate.  After cutting the outline, I glued-up the remaining redwood laminate.
