To make the bungee serviceable, I
made the anchor point very near the leading edge of bottom of the housing. With the
loop of bungee over the skeg, it was a wobbly when operated. I put a spacer along
the top edge to stabilize it. In this photo, there's only a single spacer underneath, but
the final skeg will have one on either side.
The spacer is entirely above the axle slot, but I will experiment with a spacer that encompasses the slot so that the bungee can't get tangled in the slot when the skeg is retracted.
I put a rounded notch in the tip of the spacer to guide the bungee as the skeg was retracted.
